What is Please Forgive James all about? That is for you to figure out, blog about, interact with one another and determine over the next six weeks as we talk about this at church on Sunday mornings and throughout the week in this blog space. At the end of the six weeks, you’ll know what it all means … unless you figure it out before.

I’m just guessing that “James” is us – the church. We dropped the ball and we need to pick it back up again and run with it!
Even if this isn’t who James is, I think we should do this…

i remember John Wimber remarked that one generation tends to revile against the next generation because they do it(Church) differently then they did. The way it was is not how it is anymore. i feel like that sometimes, and am concerned for the orthodoxy of the Church. But i am also concerned that i not miss God.

matthew,
i’m pretty sure you know i made the header graphic. the question is, do i ever make anything without clues, hints, or random hidden stuff?

David,
Is there any way to see an enlarged version of the header? My screen is small and I can’t tell a clue from a curly cue!
Thanks!

Kristin,
Screen images are as large as they are. The only thing you could possibly do is take a screenshot and expand it to see if there’s anything else. I’d help you with this, but… what would be the fun in that?

Some good stuff in the service this AM. As I reflected on what was said about the importance of relationships, and the need to “not be preachy” I agree that the Church has probably failed to a great extent in these areas.
The mandate in Eph 4:15 comes to mind, “speaking the truth in love…”. The point I would like to make is that it requires both love and speaking the truth. As one put it, ‘ People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care’. Building relationships and truly caring about people is important and speaking the truth without caring is often ineffective. Even so, caring without sharing the truth is equaly ineffective. Many will find the truth offensive, yet we are called to be whitnesses. Yes, as a Church we have fallen short in caring for the people of the world and the most caring thing we can do is share the Gospel and let the Holy Spirit work on their heart.

I have truly held back on this blogging thing, but here we go!!! If this is a tool we can use that God wants us to use then far be it from me to let my old fashioned methods get in the way.
