The latitude and longitude coordinates he gives are in Mongolia.
Not sure of the significance.

Ooops I stuck my last blog in a different spot. So I’ll do it again.
Actually, I believe the coordinates are in the Upper Hulls Gulch Park about 325 yards off the road to the east. James is an adenturer. Mtn biking anyone? I don’t own a gps but we could get real accurate if anyone does. I’ll be foraging tomorrow.

So this is more than “WHO” is James…it’s also “WHERE” is James. hmmmmmmmm.

Mike – We got the same coordinates as you and we have a GPS. We are headed out today about noon. If anyone would like to join us email me at: ctestardi@yahoo.com
Steve & Cindi // December 6, 2008 at 10:46 am
Colin, the coordinates are in Mongolia if you leave off the ‘-’ or the ‘W’ in the longitude…
Steve & Cindi // December 6, 2008 at 1:18 pm
OK, we found it but not sure what we found. At least we got to log a Geocache.
Mike // December 6, 2008 at 2:10 pm
The next pfj clue from the cache is John7:21-24
Mike // December 6, 2008 at 2:55 pm
Steve and Cindi, I must have arrived there first. Did you see my message and get the card I left? Hope so cause there are points on the card. Wow, this is fun!

OK, we’re stumped. Mike, was there anything else on the USB drive you took from the cache? Email us at ctestardi@yahoo.com if you want to collaborate. Steve & Cindi

Yes, but the scripture verse was the only clue on the USB. Good, I’m glad you figured out what I meant from my cache log. I was having a hard time remembering what they were called. Don’t feel bad I’m baffled today too.
Mike // December 6, 2008 at 10:56 pm
Here’s a thought. James could be the last name and PF could be a womans first and middle names.
Mike // December 7, 2008 at 8:26 am
Steve and Cindi, in response to the email you sent me only the scripture verse. Although my computer won’t open the MP4 area of the file. I expect to go through that section today. I saw no “special files around. Really all of it is the Vineyard matrix overview.

NO WAY ME TOO!

I think James is James from the Bible. Well at first I wasn’t sure why he needed to be forgiven. He seems to have it all together about living the life of a true Christian instead of preaching it. Well, I guess he needs to be forgiven like all of us so I answered my question–even if you appear like you’ve got the Christian style down, you’re not perfect and need to ask for forgiveness daily so as not to think you’re all that.

mike – i suggest vlc available at http://www.vidoelan.org – it plays almost everything! (and its free – like really free)

Jesus said, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath? 24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
Maybe James works on Sundays and is being persucuted or judged by someone for it. ????
Stephanie // December 9, 2008 at 2:38 pm
I’ll take a stab at who James is: He is every believer that stands on the law and not the love.
In John 7:21-24, Jesus is teaching the Jewish leaders in the temple. He is trying to show them that while the law was given for them (us) to live by they (we) need to see it for it’s place in their (our) lives. This is a perfect example, He is criticized by the Jewish leaders for working on the Sabbath, thereby breaking God’s law. But He sees the people and their need before He sees the law. He wants us to follow his example and many times we loose his perspective.
So I confess, I’m James, and today I’m reminded, I need to be forgiven for not gently holding out my hand to those who oppose my belief. Rick did a great job of coaxing Alan into a safe place of non judgement & condemnation.
I love this series. It speaks to my weakness and laziness in my interpersonal relationships with non, and new believers.

we listened to the voicemail and think there is more to it than just the gps thing. he asks for forgiveness, but his tone seems to not really care about getting it?
Shane Meeker // December 10, 2008 at 2:05 am
My first thoughts were the same as many of you above. As we go further I’m now leaning toward the thought that James is the Church, maybe not just the Vineyard, but God’s Church
Marcus // December 11, 2008 at 9:50 am
John 7:24 we should not judge him by appearances but make the right judgment based on truth.
When I go to the GPS coordinates who is there? Me. the letters Me are also in the word James. I am James. James is me.
Like the movie “I am Spartacus” we are all individually and collectively James.

I have been out of town, so a little left behind on this new adventure. I felt an immediate conviction before even listening to the first session that I was James following a fall-out of sorts with my daughter-in-law who has spent the past 5 years attacking me for how I present Jesus. She says that he is all we talk about in our home when they are around and that there are other subjects. I know this is not a “true” perspective, but is my “road” which the Lord has me on. On the one hand I am excited that my Christianity is easily noticeable, but in alot of pain for the damage to a special relationship it is causing. To put it in a nutshell, you would have to have a Gods’- eye view to understand the “high-drama” surrounding this relationship and I for one give up. I am going to stop acting like a christian and focus on the one who saved my life and gave this new life of mine purpose. Perhaps he will help me understand and make sence of this painful time.
Marcus // December 13, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Lisa, though i don’t know you or your family and I am no expert in the field, I have had difficult experiences with others in my life of faith.
I have found that attacks are rarely about the supposed “issue”, that is often only a mask. As people we all need to feel loved and many times “attacks” are really a cry for reassurance “Do you love me?”
The issue is not based in the reality that we do love that person, it is in the emotional perception – it is whether the person FEELS loved or not. Most of the world’s problems are caused by a FEELING of lack of love, betwen parents and children, husband and wife or siblings. The relationship between mothers and daughters in law in particular, is historically fragile, two women loving the same man, though in different ways, causes unspoken friction.
As Christians we know that prayer can change everything and the only time we fail is when we give up. Never give up for hope springs eternal. I hope this helps, my prayers are with you, Blessings,

I love the Geocache portion of this series. Any excuse to tromp around looking for a cache. I spent 30 min this morning at the Coordinates with my GPS and have come to three conclusions.
1. I missed it…looked all over but didn’t find it.
2. Someone accidently moved it.
-or-
3. I have additional things to forgive James about because it was never there.
Anyone have luck finding the cache?
Steve & Cindi // December 13, 2008 at 3:43 pm
Hey Mark,
Cindi and I spent about 30 minutes in the rain and snow last night and came up empty-handed (see http://pleaseforgivejames.com/2008/12/12/the-search-continues/#comment-223).

I wonder if we need to look at ourselves. Am I James?

I am James. Please forgive me.

PFJ-2008
Man that was hard to find!
Steve & Cindi // December 18, 2008 at 8:09 pm
Did you find it, Boone? What was the clue?
Boone Rhinehart // December 18, 2008 at 9:44 pm
I found it in the picture it was not a “clue” persay
All it says was
“PFJ-2008
Whoever posts this first gets a free PFJ shirt”
I would rather it be a clue to who James is…but
Boone Rhinehart // December 18, 2008 at 9:44 pm
I found it in the picture it was not a “clue” persay it was more like a “easter egg/scavenger hunt”
All it says was
“PFJ-2008
Whoever posts this first gets a free PFJ shirt”
I would rather it be a clue to who James is…but a shirt is nice too
Steve & Cindi // December 19, 2008 at 9:34 am
Where in the picture, Boone? I looked and looked and found nothing…
Boone Rhinehart // December 19, 2008 at 11:27 am
yes it took a VERY long time to find but…it is very hidden….so….do you see the two streaks of black on the right? well on the lower streak of black is where the clue is….so copy the picture in paint…then go to Image>invert colors…then zoom in as far as you can on the area i told you about..the “streak of black” should be white now…then take a paint bucket tool and chose black….them click once on the top part of the streak…then you should be able to see it……I took me several days to figure this out
Steve & Cindi // December 19, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Oh, now I see it. That was very, very clever. Thanks for the tip, Boone!
